about

The title says it all!

lyrics

You played the Roxy in ‘73
Down In the ditch there to see
Grevious Angel had come to pass
Too good to last
New Year had come and gone real quick and I was
On the beach and feeling sick
Thinking new life cut adrift
All change it was a different fit

Then It rained coming down real slow
With an autumn warmth was my shield on the roof all was sealed
Just coming down slow

I lived on the second floor
It was a rite of passage full of sliding doors
By Mid Year I was back at home
But all had changed I was out on loan
Come August and the president gone
Broken bones things left undone
Slowly learning something of life
The broken highways they are full of strife

And rain coming down real slow
With an autumn warmth was my shield
Coming down slow

I left my heart down on that old familiar Highway
Always chasing the setting sun
Trailing trucks switching lanes going my way
The radio stays to the left of the dial
Cause out in the backroads was more my style

Next thing the seasons closing tight
Time was now and tonight was the night
Many things that can could pull you through
When time faded into something new

The world was moving and now I found
No staying still and being homeward bound
Would lead me down some dead end street
I moved forward didn’t retreat and loved rain
